If there's a representation of a friend that is ride or die for you through the end of the world...it'll look like a little grey cat.
Haru exists in two little realities for me; one as my old fursona who saw me through the most dramatic and tumultuous time in early teenhood. And Haru, a story character who is the golden child of her family, a gifted kid who fell very hard from grace and has to navigate the world, knowing that she was never perfect. It merges sometimes, but for the most part I always depict her as a friend.
A relic from childhood, she always has the aura of a simpler time when the evils seemed more obvious.
I don't really know where to start with how symbolic or meaningful she is to me. Of all the characters here, she is the most inactive (got a life elsewhere, and Rumi calls the shots now anyway), but very important to me.
A small fun fact:
After experiencing something shockingly traumatic in my adult life, Haru 'reappeared' again after years of being basically inactive. Rumi and Alli are not built for comfort, because they don't know how to, so I guess Haru thought she'd have to step up?? Lol.
She carried me through that time, like she did in my childhood. Then when I could stand on my own again she took her leave.
I like to think of this event as confirmation that she always has my back
